Updates from the studio

If you know a bit about me, then you may know that I’ve spent my entire career working with data.

As you might expect, that data and analysis was always in a digital form on my computer. I would start with an Excel spreadsheet or a database and the end product was a chart or a dashboard that was created and viewable on the computer screen.

But then, over the past few years, I started thinking about how I could possibly translate data into a physical form somehow. I was curious about creating analog art based on data about myself and my experiences.

I tried out lots of different ideas this past year. I encoded data with embroidery on fabric, embroidery on paper, beads on fabric, patterns in friendship bracelets, and by creating different colors of knots with rope.

I’ve been documenting those creations on my website and I'm excited to share more details about my work with you!

Here's what to expect moving forward:

  • behind-the-scenes updates of my works-in-progress

  • studio sneak peaks

  • first dibs for upcoming workshops

  • data art resources

  • artist spotlights

  • and much more!

If there's any other related topics that you would like to learn about, please let me know!
